Why in the news?

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 mission on December 5. PROBA-3, a European Space Agency (ESA) mission consisting of two satellites, is designed to study the solar corona—the outer layer of the Sun’s atmosphere. Somanath said. The launch was originally scheduled for December 4; however, due to the detection of an anomaly, the lift-off took place on December 5.
