Arachnophobia. That’s what caused a Michigan motorist to risk his own life by using a lighter at a gas station.
Surveillance video at a Mobil gas station in Michigan caught the motorist taking out his lighter to kill a spider moving on the gas pump while refuelling his car. Quite obviously, the entire gas pump promptly caught fire.
“He didn’t have a cigarette. He didn’t have anything on him. All of a sudden I look out and I see flames,” employee Susan Adams, who was at the gas station, told News channel Fox 2.
Thankfully, the fire was contained to just one pump and there was no loss of life. The man returned with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire before fire extinguishers arrived.
He admitted that he tried to kill the spider because he has a deathly fear of them.
