Attanai Thaiyuanwong came home on Sunday to a giant monitor lizard clinging to the front door of his house in Samutprakarn, Thailand. Promptly, he took a video of the episode and posted it to Facebook where it attracted heavy traction.

Thaiyuanwong captured the video wherein the lizard as tall as an adult can be seen hanging on to the wall occasionally wagging its tail. A man can be seen poking it with a stick but it’s unclear whether he was successful.

According to Coconuts Bangkok’s translation, a man can be heard saying in the background “Hia is in our house. It’s huge!”. Reportedly, reptiles are addressed as ‘hia’ in Thailand. “They say if you throw a coin at it, it will go away! It’s like giving the lizard luck and fortune!” a woman off-camera was quoted as saying.

Believe it or not, Thaiyuanwong told Coconuts Bangkok that it’s not the first time the lizard has visited them. It comes often and they have even named it ‘Selena’ because Selena Gomes is his sister’s favourite celebrity.
