Although it’s been over a month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetisation of higher value currency notes of old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, people are evidently still struggling to get their hands on their own hard-earned money. Thanks to the lack cash in banks and ATMs, and the never-ending queues in front of them, the agony around the move to curb hoarding of black money has created more unrest than the sense of validation many had initially expected.
It was around the same time as Prime Minister’s announcement that mining baron Janardhana Reddy’s daughter’s Rs500-crore-wedding came under the scanner. Apparently, now a BJP leader has been caught shaking a leg with female dancers at a wedding ceremony, and not only that, but he’s been caught on camera showering old currency notes on them as well.
According to an India Today report, the BJP leader has been identified as Kalyan Patel, a district Panchayat vice-president and is from Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district. The report says the incident took place in Ghatta Billod in Dhar district on December 9. According to a video uploaded by the news website, Patel is dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans and can be seen dancing to the popular Bollywood song ‘Kajra re’.
Reportedly, the BJP worker demanded all the video cameras to be turned off, after which he danced with the dancers on stage and threw the notes at them.
