Travel the world, money doesn’t matter,” may sound unrealistic but 65-year-old tea-seller Vijayan and his wife Mohana are living their dream of travelling the world despite all odds. They have travelled across 16 countries including Britain, France, Austria, Egypt, UAE and most of India.

“If money is our only concern we will not be able to do anything. We have only one life to do everything, you can’t create extra time for it,” he says in the video uploaded by Copybook Films. It was his dream to travel to the USA which was fulfilled with the help of crowd-funding and a significant donation by Anupam Kher, the couple posted on their facebook page.

Vijayan was constantly discouraged to travel by his peers and relatives given that his single source of income is his tea-shop. He says they would remind him of his debts and how he can invest this money to multiply it instead, but Vijayan never allowed them to come in the way of his travel plans; which are indeed visibly extensive.

His wife has been his constant partner and loves to explore as much as he does. Together the two have visited Madras, Kanyakumari, Bangaluru, Delhi, Haridwar, Egypt, Jordan, London Paris, Switzerland, Paris, Venice, Singapore, Malaysia. “She is the source of my strength,” he says.

Now before you think twice about checking off your favourite travel destination on your bucket list, think about Vijayan.
