TV show anchor John Oliver is actually NOT at a loss of words while discussing and explaining Brexit, something that’ll probably go down in history as Britain’s “Independence Day” if Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage are to be believed.
Britain voted to “Leave” European Union on June 23 and the most searched term on Google that day was “What is EU?” A girl interviewed by a TV channel on how she feels about not being a part of EU any more as she voted to leave, says that if given a choice, she would change her vote to “Remain”!
Explaining this is how probably people have taken a decision, Oliver – on his show Last Week Tonight – screamed at the top of his voice and said, “NO, IT WASN’T A PRACTICE VOTE.”
Watch the video here:
“First, Britain was already independent. In fact, it’s what many other countries celebrate their independence from. Second, the sequel to the movie [Independence Day] actually opened this week, and features the wholesale destruction of London, which is beginning to feel pretty f**king appropriate right now,” he said.
Oliver also talked about the many changes that are going to take place in the coming years and how difficult it’s going to be to accommodate negotiations within two years.
The most hilarious part of the show still remains when he talks about Donald Trump who happened to be in Scotland on the day of voting and said that the Scots took their country back, that is, when they had overwhelmingly voted to remain.
