Delhi Metro had turned into an unexpected hotspot for viral moments. From young creators filming dance reels to passengers breaking into fights, the metro often finds itself in the spotlight. The latest example? Some women breaking into devotional singing mid-ride.

In a video that’s now making the rounds online, the group can be seen performing kirtan (devotional songs) inside a metro coach. Some are seated on regular seats, while others sit cross-legged on the floor, playing instruments like the dholak and manjira. Other passengers appear puzzled or amused, glancing at the impromptu gathering.

Things take a turn when security personnel arrive. The singing comes to a halt, and the women quickly tone down, apologising after being informed that such performances aren’t allowed under metro rules. The moment, captured by Instagram user @billusanda7011, is going viral.

Delhi Metro has strict guidelines: sitting on the floor or staging any kind of performance is not permitted. Announcements regularly remind passengers that rules exist to ensure the metro remains a comfortable and safe space for everyone.

The video has gained over two million views and the netizens took over the comments section.

A user wrote, “This is not a place for all these things basic etiquette should be there.” Another user added, “Aunties were like what will be the cheapest place with AC.”
