‘Brave lady’: Woman fearlessly rescues snake from office, netizens laud her after viral video

A woman has caught the internet’s attention as she fearlessly rescued a snake that entered an office premises. Hailing from Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur, Ajita Pandey is a snake rescuer.
The viral video opens with Pandey walking on the office premises to rescue the snake trapped behind a computer system. She smoothly gets hold of the reptile while office staff keep looking at her in surprise. One of them asks if the snake is venomous to which she replies, “Nahi zeherila nahi hai (no it’s non-venomous).”
As the video progresses, Pandey rescues the snake in a sack.
Sharing the video, an X handle @moronhumor wrote, “I first thought she’s here to fix the HDMI cable that might have come loose.”

The video amassed over a million views and commendations from social media users and dignitaries. Reacting to it, Inspector General of Forests (IFS) Ramesh Pandey wrote, “Good work. During monsoons, water enters snake holes, and they come out from them to take refuge in dry and dark places and enter homes, store rooms, garages, and vehicles. It’s good to make people aware of this. This was a rat snake, a non-venomous one, but not all can be handled like this.”

“She is one brave lady!” a user wrote. “Such a calm and composed demeanor. Haven’t seen any female snake rescuers on social media before. Kudos to the lady,” another user commented.
