Video: Youths pelt stones at elephant, calf in Kerala

The boys have surrendered to officials in Kerala's Wayanad district from where they belong.

Over the past few months, many videos from Kerala have emerged showing elephants running amok creating havoc. However, the action mostly is a result of a human activity.

In one such video that has now gone viral on social media, a few young boys can be seen pelting stones at a wild elephant and a calf who seem to be standing peacefully by the roadside.

The incident reportedly took place on March 25 near the Muthanga check post on National Highway 212 connecting Kerala’s Kozhikode and Mysore in Karnataka.

The video was captured by passersby who can be heard talking on the phone to someone and narrating details of the event. After the video went viral, details of the boys were found out and the four namely Riyas, Shamal Hashim, M Shameer, Abdul Razaq have reportedly surrendered to officials in Kerala’s Wayanad district from where they belong.
