Delhi Police, Mumbai Police and Bengaluru Police are known for surprising Twitter users with their quirky and unusual memes from TV shows and sitcoms, but it seems they have got another police force in their league. Joining the cool bandwagon is Uttar Pradesh Police with their comic strips that features some of the most loved fictional characters – yes, desi ones too! Can you imagine both Chacha Chaudhary and Harry Potter joining forces to remind people why they must follow traffic rules? For the ‘Road Safety Month’ observed in the state every November, the law enforcement department is all set to remind citizens about safety measures.

“Chacha Chaudhary’s head is protected but only a helmet can only protect yours,” translates one tweet posted along with a photo of famous character of Hindi comics, while another with Superman reads, “Even Superman stops at red light mid-air.” The quirky campaign started earlier this month and the five variations have been released so far between the Twitter handle of UP Police and Rahul Shrivastava, the Public Relations officer, director general of police (DGP) headquarters, as of now.

Take a look at the campaign photos here:

The photos that put a stress on the basic traffic rules, often broken by citizens, have created a huge buzz online and Tweeple are appreciating their creative move. Moving beyond comic characters, they are also using witty one-liners that strike an emotional chord.

Sample these.
