In a video shared by Sage and Rory, two sisters, a man can be seen filming them through a hotel room window.
According to the Instagram handle of the sisters, they have been travelling the world with their parents. In the viral video, the camera zooms in on a hotel window where a man appears to be filming the women below as they sunbathe. The sisters look uncomfortable, while their mother begins recording the man in response.
“Someone is filming us, and they are not being discreet,” the mother says in the video, before calling over her husband and telling him they are being watched from the window. Sharing the video, the Instagram handle wrote, “Well it looks like we’re going to have to find a new past time. If you’re a female planning on coming to India, I wouldn’t come without a body guard of a man lol. Whether you are sunbathing or fully clothed, we are finding this behavior very common in India.”

The video took over social media in no time, garnering over nine million views, and triggering a backlash against Indians and the lack of civic sense in the nation. “As an Indian girl, pls don’t come to India. Travel somewhere!” a user wrote. “We are sorry for creating an insecurity for you. People in our society never learns to mind their own business. This is the same reason we fight among ourselves a lot. The Youth of this country is trying to change or normalize outing and spreading happiness or appreciate when others are having a good time,” another user commented.
“Who goes to India for a vacation?” a third user said.
