This MLA’s gift for his son has left Twitter in a daze. (Source: Ram Kadam/Twitter)
While we are yet to get over the Rs 500 core spent on the wedding of mining baron and former Karnataka minister Janardhan Reddy’s daughter, a Mumbai MLA decided to celebrate his son’s birthday royally.
Now, kids are generally known to be really fond of birthday, especially because they get these really cool gifts. Remember how happy we used to be on our birthdays while we got our favourite bars of chocolate, beautiful dresses, a yummy cake etc.? But it seems Ram Kadam, MLA of Ghatkopar West did not want the celebrations to stop at that, so he gifted his son a swanky convertible Mercedes!
It seems Kadam went overboard with love for his son on his birthday as he took to micro-blogging site Twitter to post a photo of his gleaming son with the luxury car. He wrote: “#HappyBirthday to my dearest son @AumRKadam !!! This my loving gift for him !!!”
Well, Twitter was divided over his “loving gift” for his son. People are yet to get past the drastic effects that the government’s decision has caused. Many continue to queue up in front of ATMs and banks to buy the bare basics while politicians are indulging in open display of wealth.
Many Twitter users wondered what was he thinking while gifting his underaged son a car, and others had serious doubts about the government’s demonetisation decision — that if this is the case, then how effective is it going to be, after all. Others absolutely wanted Kadam to adopt them!
This was the MLA’s tweet.

While it seems, the “dashing” MLA (which is what he has described himself as in his Twitter bio) has ruffled some feathers after his gift for his son, there are other Twitter users reminsicing their childhood birthday memeories. As Sree Krishnan V, a Twitter user aptly puts: “I used to get Gems packet.”
