Comedy Nights with Kapil fame Kiku Sharda has been sent to judicial custody of 14 days on account of mimicking self-claimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on his show that aired on December 27. Twitterati slams the move and finds it absolutely shocking to arrest the comedian on charges of hurting religious sentiments. The fiasco has brought ‘intolerance’ back into public scrutiny.
Kiku Sharda should be awarded for mimicking a mimic. Poor chap. Who’d waste time on that Ram Rahim Gurmeet bloke?

Kiku Sharda sent to jail for hurting religious sentiment of people who are following a man who made MSG 1-2 to prove that he has no religion

Section 295A needs to go. Or modified. Or something. It gives every religious group ammo to go after anyone.

These are the “Babas” of our times. Selling themselves as action heroes, while getting comedians put behind bars. This is “Ghor Kalyug”!

Prison nights with Kapil… I don’t see why we shouldn’t change the title with immediate effect #Sec295A

However, there are some followers who take it as a well-deserved action.
I hope from now onwards, God gives Kiku Sharda some grey matter in his brain before working for such shameful acts!! #KikuDekhHaryanaKiKick

By mimicking him, Kiku Sharda has insulted Ram, Rahim, Jesus, Gurunanak, Mother Mary and Insaan. Serves him right!
