How can a bra strap bother someone? Well, it does. It bothers a lot of people. There are a lot of men – and even women – who stare at another woman if her bra strap is showing? They find it obscene and indecent. There is obviously no logical reason to it but that’s the way ‘society’ works. By ‘societal’ standards, a bra strap is meant to stay hidden inside a piece of cloth that should not even be transparent – or so we’ve been made to believe.

Ranting against just that, actor Saloni Chopra has shared an Instagram post for all those who have a problem with a woman’s bra strap visible in public. This is what she says: ” I’ve been around a few such diseased people. And you can’t tell that they’re affected by this narrow minded disease when you first meet them. They look normal. They make you feel wonderful at the start. They’re the ones that follow bold models on Instagram & keep porn on their phones. They come across as extremely open minded. They’ll talk to you about feminism and global warming. And trust me, it’s usually that “Bra Strap” that arouses them in the first place – and then BAM! You’re being told its “just for them to see”. You should dress more “appropriately” in public. If you meet these diseased people, you could A. Send them to a Doctor, or B. Ask them to go f**k themselves.”

Chopra has not brought up an issue that has not been discussed in the past. There have been ‘Free The Nipple’ campaigns across the world that have emphasised on how important it is for people to change their mindset towards women’s breasts and not objectify them.
