Social media is often a stage for lighthearted pranks and reactions that quickly go viral, and while pranking teachers can be risky, a group of students at Bengaluru’s Christ University decided to take that chance—and the results were delightful.

The fun began during a class when two students appeared to get into a heated debate, sparking their professor’s curiosity. The teacher stepped in to find out what the fuss was about, only to learn that the students were arguing over the grammatical correctness of two phrases: “You is sleep” and “You can sleep.” With complete confidence, the professor confirmed that “you can sleep” was correct.

That’s when the prank unfolded. As soon as he said the words, every student in the room instantly put their heads down on their desks, pretending to doze off. Realising he’d been part of a playful setup, the professor took it all in stride, smiling and asking if the moment was being recorded. Upon finding out it was, he gave a cheerful wave to the camera, charming viewers everywhere.
