Rahul Gandhi is a Twitterati troll favourite, with members of the microblogging site pretty much critiquing everything he says or tweets. On Monday, while leading a protest in Jalandhar, highlighting the Punjab’s drug problem and collapse of law and order, the Congress vice-president quoted Capt Amarinder Singh. “Amarinderji said that if Cong comes to power, drug problem will be curbed in a month because we intend to give more powers to police,” he said.
As fantastic as solving the drug problem within a month of coming to power sounds, it was a bit too much for people to swallow. Before long, tweeple started pointing out the unreal ambition of the statement, and then promptly responded with jest and sarcasm. Sample these tweets.
Rahul Gandhi has THE solution to Punjab’s drug problem. Says he can solve it in a month! Wonder what he’s smoking ?
