A viral video shows pointsmen guiding a train through submerged tracks between Sleemanabad and Dundi in Madhya Pradesh amid ongoing heavy rainfall that has led to 14.6 inches of water accumulation across the state.

A viral video shared by @jist.news shows pointsmen navigating between submerged tracks to guide a train safely between Sleemanabad and Dundi stations in Madhya Pradesh. Equipped with high-visibility gear, they navigated the submerged sections, ensuring the train could proceed without derailing.
Their efforts were crucial in maintaining the safety of the passengers and the integrity of the railway infrastructure.
According to information, when continuous downpours led to water accumulating on the tracks, making it nearly impossible for train operators to discern the rails, the pointsmen took swift action, walking between the tracks to manually direct the train’s passage.
The waterlogging between Sleemanabad and Dundi is part of a broader issue affecting several regions in Madhya Pradesh due to the monsoon season.

For the past five days, the state has been soaking up a steady downpour, with various districts experiencing consistent rainfall. To date, an impressive 14.6 inches — about 35 per cent of the expected total — has been recorded across the region.
Reacting to the video, one user said, “don’t get it, is the train not gonna stay on tracks if they aren’t visible?” Meanwhile, a second user stated, “How fast will the train be running?” A third user commented, “They are checking whether there is track or not….train dont have steering wheel jo wo guide krre left le ya right le.” And a fourth added, “Results of destroying forests in the name of the nation’s future building.”
