Viral video misidentified as final moments of Navy officer Vinay Narwal and his wife; real couple comes forward: ‘We are alive’
Content creators Ashish Sehrawat and Yashika Sharma uploaded the video on April 22, purely coincidentally on the same day the attack occurred. It was later taken down after backlash began pouring in.
Sharma urged everyone to report the videos online that falsely identify the couple in the video as late Navy officer Vinay Narwal and his wife A video making the rounds on social media, allegedly showing Lieutenant Vinay Narwal and his wife Himanshi Sowami dancing shortly before the Pahalgam terror attack, has turned out to be a case of mistaken identity. The 19-second clip, set against the picturesque backdrop of Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley, shows a couple dancing to the popular Coke Studio track Jhol. Many posts falsely claimed it was the “last video” of the Lieutenant and his wife before the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that took his life.
However, travel influencers Ashish Sehrawat and Yashika Sharma have stepped forward to set the record straight. The duo confirmed to HT.com that they are the ones in the video. According to Sehrawat, the footage was actually shot on April 14 during their trip to Kashmir. He even provided a screenshot showing the video’s metadata to support the claim.
