BJP MP Maneka Gandhi, who runs Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre, has impressed netizens with her swift response to a rescue appeal for an injured money that was lying injured on the roadside in Delhi.
“This monkey is injured and in a very bad state. Please, some NGO or animal rights activist come forward to rescue him. This is near Press Club of India at Raisina Road, New Delhi,” tweeted a journalist and tagged the BJP MP.
In less than 30 minutes, Gandhi responded to the post and informed the journalist that she had sent a vehicle to rescue the animal. “Thank you for tagging me. I’m sending a car right now to have him sent to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre for treatment. The car will be there in a few minutes.”

Gandhi’s tweet quickly went viral and caught the attention of netizens, who lauded the politician for her prompt response to the animal’s situation. Some even drew a parallel with former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who had earned a formidable reputation of responding to distress tweets from Indians stranded across the world.
However, many also wondered if the animal was indeed rescued and taken care of.
