If there is anything that binds together people on the Internet, then it is pop culture references and memes. Yes, are you are reading this your best friend has probably tagged you in one of them. But guess who else loves to have a good laugh over Game of Thrones and Stranger Things’ memes?
The Mumbai Police Twitter account admins!
While the general notion of policemen is that of men in uniform with grim faces that mean business, Mumbai Police (and Bangalore Police Twitter accounts) have been serving law and order up on the Internet with a pinch of salt and equal parts humour. This time, they have tried to make people beware of sharing their personal bank details over the phone with a GIF from the series Stranger Things and with a meme of a baby smiling in his sleep captioned “How I sleep when I know my passwords are strong and it isn’t easy to hack into my accounts.” These are just the latest additions to Mumbai Police’s ever-expanding collection of popular culture memes, including many Game of Thrones and F.R.I.E.N.D.S references.
Here are some of the recent tweets from the handle that have left us in splits.
