The Mumbai Police is not new in using hit, trending memes to convey important messages by giving it a meaningful twist and this time they have taken to the ‘Thank U, Next’ meme craze. Ariana Grande’s latest single, the break-up anthem which left people inspired to give value to self-love, also turned into a cracking hit, becoming the fastest rising song on charts. But one particular line from her song’s pre-chorus garnered a lot of attention online — “one taught me love/one taught me patience/and one taught me pain” — and went onto to become of the most popular viral memes of the year.

With an Indian touch, desi users too have joined this meme-game. Now, the social media team of the Mumbai Police has used pictures of school girls at a zebra crossing, a traffic guard managing vehicles and a family travelling on a motorbike without helmets to highlight road safety.
