The Mumbai police often use references from latest movies to talk about important issues such as cyber crimes and road safety. On Monday, the law enforcement agency used a clip from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and pointed out that only two people should travel in two-wheelers. In India, three or four people are often seen ‘adjusting’ in a vehicle made for just two.

The Mumbai police shared a clip that showed Marvel comics villain Spot, talking to what appears to be a family of four commuting in one bike. Spot addresses the commuters and says, “That’s very dangerous”.

While sharing this clip on Instagram, the Mumbai police wrote, “No matter which multi-verse you are in, safety is always the canon. #SlingingIntoSafety #AcrossTheRiderVerse #SafetyIsCannon”.

An Instagram user wrote, “Mumbai police is also using pirated video clips of movie and they say pirated movies download is crime”. Another person said, “You should not post spoilers ”.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, was released in India on June 1. It features Pavitr Prabhakar, an Indian avatar of Spider-Man who lives in Mumbattan, a portmanteau of Mumbai and Manhattan.
