At a time when the world is fighting against sexual harassment, abuse and molestation, there are umpteen incidents that still leave us fuming with rage. While millions of women from all across the globe are courageously opening up about such stories with the hashtag #MeToo on social media, a certain Instagram and Facebook account has surfaced with atrocious photos and videos of a person feeling up the bare backs of women with low-back or backless blouses. Though it seems that the videos and photos have been taken without consent of the women, there is no confirmation of the same.
Going by the name Vinay Nair, all that social media profiles indicate is that this person is from Mumbai and claims to be a “big fan of backless blouse wearing women.” He has uploaded 63 such gross videos (on last count) on his account. As creepy as it sounds, he goes out on the streets to capture videos of touching women on their backs inappropriately. Shockingly, he has a taken on a #100backlessblouses challenge to make his count reach to 100. But, what’s worse is that he already has 1,744 followers.
A Facebook user, Angad Gummraju, found this profile while searching for blouse designs online. Sharing it on his account, he wrote: “I was looking for blouse designs a few days ago, and guess what I found. An account of a man filming himself touching women on the streets, and 1634 people that follow it. A goddamn account of his ‘trophies’, of every time he’s touched a woman’s body against her will. Makes me sick to my stomach. I don’t know how but can this vile scum be tracked down? Anyone? Please share. Edit: Not sure if reporting’s a good idea anymore.”
After his post, several others shared his profile, asking them to report the account. Check out the tweets here.
