Monkeys causing chaos in Mathura and Vrindavan are nothing new. These clever little troublemakers have built quite a reputation for snatching anything they can get their hands on—be it glasses, phones, or snacks—often holding items hostage until a suitable “ransom” is offered.

Recently, one particularly shrewd monkey in Vrindavan took things up a notch, pulling off a hilarious trade that had the internet in stitches. A viral video posted by Karthik Rathoud on Instagram shows the monkey perched on a balcony, tightly clutching a Samsung S25 Ultra, as three men frantically attempt to negotiate its return.

The men try their best to tempt the monkey into a fair exchange with tetra packs of Frooti. But this furry businessman is not easy to impress. For a while, it seems like the deal will not go through—until one juice box lands just right. In an instant, the monkey grabs the drink, tosses the expensive phone back down, and enjoys its sweet reward.

The internet loved the cheeky trade, with the clip racking up over nine million views. People could not stop laughing at the monkey’s sharp negotiation skills. One user joked, “He knows the barter system,” while another quipped, “That was the quickest trade in human-animal history.”

A few people even shared their own experiences of being outwitted by monkeys. “Mera bhi chasma le gya tha… 50 rupee dene pade fir one Frooti..! (He took my glasses too… Had to give 50 rupees, then got one Frooti..!)” one person recalled.

This is not the only monkey heist making waves online. In another viral video, a monkey crashed a haldi ceremony, shocking guests as it sprinted in and made a beeline for the sweets. Before anyone could react, it stuffed as many ladoos as possible into its mouth and tiny fists, then bolted—leaving everyone stunned and empty-handed.
