On a routine drive along National Highway 1, an X user Harmeen Soch, a teacher, found herself in a terrifying ordeal. She was targeted, chased and tailgated by four men in a Scorpio SUV.
Soch recounted the unnerving encounter on X, describing it as a “cat and mouse game for 7 kms”. In her post, she detailed how the men relentlessly pursued her, alternately tailgating and obstructing her path. “In between I made a stop at petrol pump to let them move on. They must have halted somewhere on road too as I saw them catch up with me again,” Soch wrote.
Wary of the dangers of speeding on the highway, Soch, at one point, slowed down. With her speed reduced to a mere 50 kmph where the permitted limit was 100 kmph, she grappled with the dilemma of whether to call the police or continue driving.

“Thought i’d try speeding up one more time as my slip road was coming up ahead. They sped up again to slow me down and I turned left at the last moment without indicator which resulted in them going on elevated road and I on slip road,” Soch wrote in per X post.
Soch also mentioned how the ordeal left her trembling with a racing heart and a lingering trauma of the experience once she was out of harm’s way.
Soch’s post, made on May 9, has received over eight lakh views on X. Many users urged her to lodge an official complaint with the police. Responding to one of the users, Soch said the incident happened between Punjab‘s Dhilwan and Subhanpur.
Reflecting on the incident, she also wrote, “What is entertainment for a few men can be a trauma for women for many days. Not sure whether men realize that or not.”
