Indian mothers can’t stand seeing their children sad or missing out on anything. A recent incident that went viral highlights this sentiment. A mother decided to make a sweater for her son that resembles a design by luxury brand Ralph Lauren.

Sandeep Mall, an author and wildlife photographer, recently shared a post on his X account that went viral for all the right reasons. He revealed that he had wanted to buy a Ralph Lauren sweater for years, but due to its steep price (Rs 31,000), it was always out of his budget. To ensure her son didn’t miss out on the sweater, his mother took it upon herself to knit a sweater replicating the one he had longed for.

Mall also shared two photos in his post—one showing a screenshot of the original sweater and the other of his mother knitting a similar version. He captioned the post, part in English and Hindi, which translates to, “Was eying this Ralph Lauren sweater for years but was out of budget at Rs 31,000. Mom took it upon herself to fulfill her son’s wish.”
