Virat Kohli is currently the country’s darling and not just because of his exceptional cricket but also because of his all-round star quality that connects well with India’s youth. Recently, his videos of dancing with rumoured girlfriend Anushka Sharma at Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech’s wedding went viral on social media and people couldn’t get enough of his Punjabi moves. On December 12, Kohli won over million hearts when the country won the Test match against England by an innings and the star-cricketer made 235 runs, a double century and breaking a few records.
Sharing her happiness at India’s win at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, melody queen Lata Mangeshkar took to Twitter to congratulate the team, making a special dedication to captain of the series Virat Kohli. “Namaskar. Aaj 3rd match bahut aasani se hum jeet gaye.Main hamari puri team ka abhinandan karti hun,” she wrote. “Khas taur se Virat Kohli Kohli ko badhaai deti hun jinhone 235 run banaaye,” she added, sharing her beautifully inspiring song ‘Aakash Ke Us Paar’.
Mangeshkar’s love for cricket is not unknown. In fact, it’s her favourite game. And this is also not the first time she has tweeted about the game, either. Her Twitter time line is peppered with reactions to various matches. She tweeted when Sachin Tendukar retired and so when Rahul Dravid did in 2012. She also congratulates the team whenever they win a significant match.

Kohli hasn’t responded to the veteran singer yet, but her followers are all praise for both of them.
