A Lamborghini Aventador, owned by social media influencer Sanjeev, known online as Nimma Mane Maga Sanju, caught fire on a busy street in Bengaluru, setting the internet abuzz.
A viral video shows flames erupting from the rear of the Rs 10-lakh luxury car, where its engine is located. The clip also shows passersby rushing to pour water in an attempt to stop the fire. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
Sanjeev is popular for showcasing his collection of high-end cars. He frequently appears in videos wearing gold jewellery on his neck and wrists.
Initial reactions assumed the luxury supercar had been destroyed in the fire. However, Sanjeev later addressed the speculation, clarifying that the vehicle only suffered “minor damage”, NDTV reported.
Business tycoon and automobile enthusiast Gautam Singhania, chairman of the Raymond Group, raised safety concerns for Lamborghini owners in India. Sharing the video, he wrote, “Another day, another Lamborghini in flames. This time in Bengaluru. This isn’t a “rare incident” anymore. It’s a pattern.
Why is Lamborghini silent??? Why are their cars catching fire??? Are their cars safe??? Should they be allowed in India???”

The video triggered a range of reactions, with a netizen saying, “It’s simple poor mechanical skills these cars require proper understanding of the Evap system and periodic maintenance by competent techs.” Another user commented, “First we have to find out if it was serviced outside the dealership or any mods before blaming the manufacturer.”
“Indian road and atmosphere is not ready for super car,” a third user reacted.
This is not the first time a Lamborghini has caught fire on Indian roads. In December last year, a Lamborghini Revuelto, also priced around Rs 10 crore, caught fire on Mumbai’s Coastal Road.
