Bride cancels wedding in Haridwar after groom’s friends make lewd remarks at her female relatives; brawl follows

The shocking scene was captured by CCTV cameras at the venue. In the video circulating on social media, men can be seen with ripped clothes, hurling stones in the middle of what was supposed to be a joyful celebration.

Despite the widespread attention the incident has received online, police have confirmed that no formal complaint has been lodged by either side, as per Free Press Journal.

The video has triggered strong reactions from netizens. One user wrote, “Where are we going. Where do these people come from.” Another user commented, “Some guests and relatives who come to the wedding are busy enjoying themselves and often create such a situation with their actions. A social, family, religious ceremony turns into a bitter memory.”

A third person commented, “Chalo ladki bach gayi (Well, the girl was saved).” A fourth individual wrote, “These events should be handled with high sensitivity.”

This wasn’t the first wedding to be called off this year. In January, a video went viral from Bengaluru where a mother made headlines for canceling her daughter’s wedding on the spot. The reason? The groom showed up intoxicated and, along with his friends, began creating a scene at the venue.
