Momos, the Himalayan delicacy, has made its way to several parts of India, but it holds a special place among foodies in Delhi. Be it “kothe momos” in Majnu Ka Tila or “Dolma Aunty ke momos” in Lajpat Nagar, the national capital has iconic momo stops in every corner. These steamed, fried, pan-fried, or gravy-soaked dumplings have been accepted by people of all age groups. But now, a new and bizarre variety has food enthusiasts cringing: fruit momos, priced at Rs 170.

In a viral video shared by an Instagram food page @realfoodler, a street vendor walks viewers through the making of this “atrocious” dish. From a plate of fruits to milk to liquid cheese to cream, the vendor adds several ingredients and condiments including salt, pepper, and mixed herbs to the pan. He then adds a plate of fried, paneer momos and serves the dish to his customer.

“Aisa momos puri Delhi mein nahi milega (You won’t find this dish anywhere in Delhi),” he says. Further, he claims the dish is specially prepared for gym enthusiasts.
