Last night’s clash against Gujarat Titans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium may not have gone RCB’s way, but the energy and passion of the supporters remain unmatched.
Amid this cricket madness, one auto driver’s unique gesture has won hearts across the city. Ajmal Sultan, fondly known as Azzu Sultan, has gone viral for his incredible show of support—offering free rides to passengers wearing RCB jerseys. Holding up a sign that read, “Free ride if you are wearing RCB jersey,” Sultan spread joy among fans and quickly became an Internet sensation.
A video capturing his heartwarming initiative has racked up over seven lakh views, and social media platforms were flooded with reactions. One user wrote, “RCB Fans Respect Button.” Another individual said, “Offer valid till RCB wins the tournament.”
This isn’t the first time Sultan has caught the Internet’s attention. A few months ago, he was widely appreciated for an initiative to promote linguistic harmony in Bengaluru. He placed a leaflet in his auto titled “Learn Kannada with Auto Kannadiga”, which featured simple Kannada phrases with English translations. His thoughtful effort encouraged non-Kannada speakers to pick up basic phrases, making travel smoother and promoting inclusivity in the city.
RCB started their season on a high note, winning their first two matches, but faced their first setback last night against Gujarat Titans. After being put to bat first by Gujarat’s skipper Shubman Gill, RCB posted a total of 169/8, with Liam Livingstone leading the charge with a solid half-century. However, Gujarat Titans chased down the target comfortably, with Jos Buttler smashing an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls.

Former RCB player Mohammad Siraj, now playing for Gujarat, was named Player of the Match for his brilliant spell of 3/19 in four overs. Despite the loss, RCB still holds third place in the points table.
