The passengers are repeatedly requesting the staff to call someone from the higher management. A video of irate passengers of a Pakistan International Airlines flight that was delayed because of a fuel shortage has been going viral on X, formerly Twitter.
The clip was posted on TikTok originally by the user @arkhamkhanofficial and shows passengers pleading with the airline staff to offer a solution. One of them is heard saying that the airline should have informed the flyers the previous night that the flight had been cancelled. He says he will incur a loss of $6,000 because he has hotel and rental car bookings.
Another passenger is heard saying that people like him promote the national carrier but given its state of affairs, the airline should be sold off. Another angry passenger says while fuel is available for government functionaries, there is no fuel for common man who pay for services.
The passengers are repeatedly requesting the staff to call someone from the higher management but they refuse to do so. One of them says his wife is pregnant and asks when the flight will be able to take off, “tonight or tomorrow morning”.

It is not clear when the video was shot but in October, the PIA cancelled or rescheduled 349 flights due to a fuel shortage. PIA and Pakistan State Oil were reportedly locked in a dispute over payments.
