With the soaring popularity of Instagram reels, social media users are increasingly indulging in risky deeds to shoot videos for the platform, and more often than not, end up inviting trouble. In a recent incident, a man in Jaipur’s Rajasthan was arrested after he drove his SUV on railway tracks in an inebriated state and got stuck.

The now-viral clip of the incident shows the man trying to move his vehicle away from the railway tracks while locals and cops assist him. As the video progresses, the man successfully manages to free his vehicle. Sharing the video, an X user wrote, “Yesterday in Jaipur, some guys rented a Thar and were performing stunts on a live railway track. Seeing such posts everyday really makes me feel like starting a campaign to teach people what 4×4 is actually about!”

As per an NDTV report, the man was shooting a video to make a reel when his vehicle got stuck. The report also said that a goods train was approaching the SUV on the same track, but the loco pilot applied emergency brakes in time, averting a mishap. The accused also hit three people while trying to flee the scene. The Jaipur Police arrested the man and seized the vehicle.

Many social media users condemned the incident, demanding legal action against the accused. A user wrote, “Just put him in jail, that will be good education.” Another user commented, “Mahindra should include dos and don’ts in the ownership manual of Thar.”

“Suspend his driving license permanently and punish him,” a third user said. “These days, it seems like Mahindra Thar owners think they own the entire road and are the only ones with the right to drive on it,” another user commented.

Early this month, two people were killed by a train while they were shooting reel videos on a railway track in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
