After global artiste Diljit Dosanjh kick-started his Dil-Luminati India tour at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26, tracks of the stadium were found littered and sports equipment was found broken, leaving an athlete infuriated.
Beant Singh, a Delhi-based former Asian gold medallist, shared a video on Instagram complaining about broken sports equipment piled up after the concert. The viral video also shows the stadium littered with plastic bottles and food boxes.
“This is where athletes train, but here, people had alcohol and dances. The stadium was shut until yesterday for this concert. Athletics equipment has been broken and thrown to the side,” Singh said in the video.
“This is the situation of sport, sportspersons, and stadiums in India. Some people will point out once in four years that medals do not come in the Olympics. This is because there is no respect and support for sportspersons in this country,” he added.

Several social media users slammed the management for the mess. Boxer Dinesh Dagar commented, “You are right brother. Those who give permission to organize events here should see this! These people cannot understand the value of a sportsman’s training. Seeing this feels very bad.” Another user wrote, “I wish people come to watch sports with this excitement nonsense this is.”
“that’s why India is very poor performance in international level,” a third user reacted.
Meanwhile, another Delhi man took to X to highlight the mismanagement at Dosanjh’s concert. In a lengthy post, the man claimed that the concertgoers had to wait for over an hour to get inside the stadium. Moreover, the management got into a fight with the crowd, following which the beverage counter was shut. The crowd had no access to water or other drinks after 9 pm.
