‘He picked up a brick…’: Delhi man left bleeding, vehicle wrecked after harrowing road rage incident

Gupta said he kept driving slowly due to the congested road. However, the man picked up a brick from the roadside, shattered the rear window, and then returned to break both front seat windows. “Within a couple of minutes, using a brick, he broke both the windows on the front seats. The rear window was gone, and he was attempting to break the main window on the front side,” Gupta said.

He described being in a state of shock, unable to react, as glass flew inside the car. “I was processing what was going on while glass shards were all over my body.” Gupta also shared photos of the wrecked vehicle — smashed windows, a cracked windshield, and bloodstains inside the car — along with injuries he sustained during the assault. “Broken glass causes very minute but critical injuries,” he wrote.

Following the attack, Gupta called emergency services, and police responded swiftly. “Within minutes, I called up the emergency numbers, and within an hour, the police investigation was underway. The medical paperwork was also done in the next three hours, along with an elaborate statement that I gave to the authorities. I must add that the response was prompt,” he said.

Gupta called the incident part of a broader issue in the national capital. “Road rage is a prevailing threat in Delhi,” he wrote. Further, he urged Delhi Police and the traffic department to track down the attacker. “My injuries and my car will heal, but what if I had family or friends in the car? That’s the real concern,” he added.

Not a story I’d want to narrate here, but yesterday, around 9:55 AM, I was brutally attacked by an unknown man while I was on my way to my workplace, in my car. Chasing me on his two-wheeler for almost three kilometres, the man was forcing me to step out of the vehicle.

Several social media users reacted to the post, expressing safety concerns. A user wrote, “Stay safe. Hope you’re ok and insurance manages to fix your car like new.” Another user commented, “Damn. That must have been scary as hell. Glad you are safe. Hope they catch the perpetrator!”

“This is terrible and am relieved that you are safe my friend … Hope you have reported this to the police,” a third user reacted.

This disturbing incident comes just days after another road rage tragedy in East Delhi’s Geeta Colony, where a 20-year-old man was brutally stabbed after his scooter accidentally grazed another vehicle.
