Comedian Sunil Pal’s homophobic rant explaining Indian stand up comedy is unbelievable

You have to listen to it to believe it.

Ever since the controversy involving AIB co-founder Tanmay Bhat’ video titled ‘Sachin vs Lata Civil War’ hit the headlines, everyone wants to share a piece of their mind on the issue. Complaints have been lodged and he has even received death threats. Politicians have voiced their annoyance over the matter and people on Twitter and Facebook can’t stop talking about it.

Meanwhile, comedian Sunil Pal, who got into limelight after he won The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005, also tried to make his point during an interaction with a news channel. Explaining the current scenario of the Indian stand up comedy, he says “If you go to watch their show, you’ll not understand a word of what they’re saying. All they do is, stand on the stage and talk vulgar and below the belt.”

What has hurt the sentiments of many is his statement, “Half of the audience in their is gays and lesbians who have no other job but to dirty the world and society.”
