It’s a well-known fact that Chetan Bhagat is one of the most popular figures on Twitter and people on social media love to troll him. Tolerant as he is, the author doesn’t mind and often plays along. Remember when he tweeted “what do historians do?” and when he took a dig at Pakistan when India beat the team during World Cup T20 in March. And let’s not even mention what happens when he talks about his novel “Half Girlfriend”. Chetan Bhagat was massively trolled on Twitter when he released the book in 2014 with people sharing memes and jokes on the title.

But this time he talked about “Half Girlfriend” and people are NOT trolling him. Instead, they are excited!

So Bhagat shared the news of the first day of shooting of Mohit Suri’s film “Half Girlfriend” – adaptation of Bhagat’s novel- and Twitterati is excited about the film. Thanks to the cast Arjun Kapoor and Shradhha Kapoor.

He tweeted Arjun Kapoor’s picture and wrote, “Hi Guys, Meet Madhav Jha. #HalfGirlfriend starts shoot today in Delhi.”

As soon as he tweeted, Half Girlfriend started trending on Twitter and surprisingly, people on social media have good things to say to him.

But because its’s Half Girlfriend, there were obviously a few jokes.

Just FYI, this is Bhagat’s fifth novel that is being turned into a film. 3 Idiots, Kai Po Che, Hello, and 2 States are also based on his novels.
