The political deadlock in Maharashtra continues with no party able to form the state government despite the result having being announced in October. The central government is expected to explore imposing President’s rule in the state with no party able to form the government in the state.

In the past, people suggested that Anil Kapoor should come forward to stake claim given his performance in the hit film Nayak. As the political battle continues to rage on in the state, people are sharing memes and jokes to explain the situation. As #MaharashtraPolitics and #MaharashtraPoliticalCrisis trends on social media, there are plenty of memes from popular films and shows that aim to accurately depict the battle for the chief minister’s chair and how people of the state feel.

Here are some of the reactions:

BJP, which emerged as the single-largest party with 105 seats, has failed to get ally Shiv Sena on board after refusing to share the chief minister’s chair. The Shiv Sena, with 56 seats in its kitty, was invited by the Governor to form the government, but couldn’t convince the Congress to back it. With 54 MLAs, the NCP is the third-largest party while the Congress has 44 MLAs.

After day-long discussions with its Maharashtra leadership Monday, the Congress did not give the waiting Sena a letter of support, forcing Aaditya Thackeray and Eknath Shinde to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari with empty hands and seeking more time. a request Raj Bhavan didn’t accept.

Sources in the Congress told The Indian Express the party would certainly back an NCP-led Government. The Congress has now left to it the NCP which was given a day’s time by the Governor to secure the requisite numbers and negotiate with the Sena.
