When Reliance Industries Limited released an advertisement featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi which was published in two national dailies, it got the better of people on social media mocking and slamming it left right and centre. Many questioned if the move was legal or proper. Among the long list of people who criticised the ad was Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal (expectedly so) who was very explicit in his attack on the PM. “PM as Mr Reliance,” he said in one tweet. “Modi ji, you keep advertising for Reliance. People of this country will teach you a lesson in 2019,” he said in another. Not to mention all the retweets that followed reprimanding Reliance and Modi.

The CM who is known for picking on Modi every now and then hasn’t gotten over the Reliance ad just yet. In a tweet made on September 8, he took a dig at Reliance and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He said, “After PM modelled for Reliance, someone has said that RSS stands for Reliance Swayamsewak Sangh.”

After the controversy, RIL chairman reportedly explained his decision of using Modi’s picture. “Modi is my Prime Minister as well. The Prime Minister has given a Digital India vision which I am personally inspired by. We are dedicating our service to the vision of India’s leader, to India and 1.2 billion Indians and there’s nothing political about this,” ABP News quoted him as saying.

Just like most of Kejriwal’s tweets on Modi, this one is also being shared massively. People are asking the CM to get over it and one of the popular trolls wants to welcome him to the troll club.
