Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday re-tweeted his friend-turned-rival Prashant Bhushan’s tweet on Supreme Court’s inquiry into the appointment of Gujarat-cadre IPS officer Rakesh Asthana as CBI acting director. In a tweet, the veteran lawyer, who co-founded Aam Aadmi Party along with Kejriwal, said that Supreme Court is questioning the government on premature removal of former Special Director, CBI, R K Dutta without proper consent. “SC asks govt:How did you move Spl Dir CBI Dutta out of CBI prematurely w/o consent of CVC etc & w/o permission of Court in 2G&Coalgate cases,” Bhushan said in a tweet.
Kejriwal apparently chose to forget his bitter rivalry with Bhushan, that developed when the lawyer was ousted from the party soon after Kejriwal took the charge as Delhi Chief Minister, and re-tweeted his update on the court proceedings.
Bhushan, who soon after his removal from AAP, launched another political movement Swaraj Abhiyaan along with another ousted AAP leader Yogendra Yadav, has accused Kerjiwal of betraying the people of Delhi. But Kejriwal re-tweeting Bhushan perhaps suggests that the Delhi CM is willing to join hands with his rivals to protest against the Central government on matters related to CBI director’s appointments.
In fact, in July this year, the CM told a Tv channel that it’ll be good to have Bhushan and Yadav back in the party if they were willing to come but the lawyer, in response, had tweeted, “After abusing ‘S**e, K****e’ and orchestrating a physical attack by his MLAs in the NC meeting, Kejriwal wants us back! Hypocrite Shameless!”
