Wasim Akram's cat's grooming bill leaves commentators in stitches
Legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram, currently in Australia for commentary duties during the ODI series between Pakistan and Australia, shared a hilarious tale leaving fellow commentators in stitches. The former fast bowler said he couldn’t believe the bill he once received for his cat’s haircut in Australia—an amount that could have easily gotten him a brand-new iPhone.
Akram recounted the experience saying that the grooming session for his cat cost him a shocking 1,000 Australian dollars, Rs 55,000, approximately.
What made the situation even more absurd was that the grooming included medical procedures like anaesthesia and a post-care package. Akram, stunned by the cost, said, “With this kind of money, you could probably get 200 cats groomed in Pakistan!”

Mark Howard, fellow commentator, read out loud the 1,000 AUD bill from Akram’s phone. The list included 105 AUD (Rs 5,000) for a medical check-up, 305 AUD (Rs 15,000) for anaesthesia to sedate the cat, 40 AUD (Rs 2,000) for the actual haircut, and an extra 120 AUD (Rs 6,600) for “aftercare”.
The Instagram reel posted by @triplemcricket along with the caption, “This @wasimakramliveofficial story has to be heard to be believed,” has gone viral with over four lakh views.
One user wrote, “Talk about indian men living abroad not paying a single penny for the haircut.” Another user said, “Bro you go home your Mrs is gonna see you.” A third user commented, “Was the cat in for a hair transplant or a hair cut.”
