You may love him or hate him, but you cannot ignore him. US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s appeal is, well, debatable. While not many may agree with almost all of what he has to say, there’s no doubt that his popularity is soaring. While US citizens, at least those who disagree with him, will have a way of expressing their displeasure come November, what do those who live in other parts of the world do?
A bar in the United Kingdom has the answer. Owners and patrons of the Raglan Road Irish Bar, Nottingham have paid their tribute to Donald Trump….. at the men’s washroom. The bar has installed a urinal that has the billionaire-turned-politician’s face plastered on it.
The Irish pub’s manager Ruth Beraki told a local newspaper that they decided to put up the picture at the beginning of August, reports the Huffington Post.
According to a BBC report, “We are not trying to influence people. It is only meant to be a bit of fun,” the manager said.
She said added that many people have been spotted taking selfies with the Trump’s image at the toilet and “think it is brilliant”, the report added. Beraki also confirmed in the report that there were no complaints and no-one had said anything about it being inappropriate.
Interestingly, while sharing the picture of the Trump-face-urinal on their Facebook page, the Raglan Road Irish Bar said that they had previously installed an image of the Donald Trump and it got ripped off! “New toilet feature #irishpub come wee on #trump for the craic last one got ripped off,” read the post along with the picture.
However, this is not the first time this has been done. Earlier in March, a bar in Kennington set up urinal-style voting booths. With help from “The Last Leg” satire show, the pub called the Three Stags set up white porcelain voting booths and encouraged drinkers to pee in a politically-minded way. Each of the urinals had images of Donald Trump, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.
Later the pub also installed commodes with the faces of three politicians in ladies room too, offering them an opportunity to vote too! According to a report by the Evening Standard, Donald Trump won by great margins.
Last month, a Dublin pub too came up with a urinal with Trump’s face. The newly-opened Adelphi pub installed the urinal in the men’s room and claimed it was immensely popular. However, the manager of the pub said that they would take down the picture if Donald Trump won in the election. “If he is elected by the people of the United States, we will take it down immediately as we feel it would then be disrespectful to the American people,” Tony McCabe, the bar’s manager, explained to Entertainment.ie, reported the Daily News.
While these Trump-themed urinals are becoming a hot trend, Chinese manufacturers have already taken the market by storm with Trump-face-toilet papers. Trump association with all things dirty only seems to be only escalating.
