Tom Holland shared his beer hunt adventure on Instagram Stories
Tom Holland, 28, while on his recent visit to the United States of America, took his fans along on a light-hearted quest to track down his non-alcoholic beer, Bero. He shared the mini-adventure on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, February 18, as it turned out to be more of a journey than he expected.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been in the States,” Holland said, filming himself as he strolled through a parking lot. “I’m gonna go visit some Bero on the shelves, out in the wild.”
His first stop, a Target store, a mass-market retail company, led to disappointment—no Bero in sight. “Not the best marketing,” he joked, before heading to a second Target store, only to strike out again. Still determined, he says, “The hunt continues.”
Finally, on his third try, Holland’s luck turned. “This is a bigger Target, so I feel more hopeful,” he said as he navigated the aisles. Sure enough, he finally spotted his beer and flashed a victorious grin.
However, just when he thought his mission was accomplished, there was one last hiccup at the checkout. “Okay, so success, I found some. I bought it,” he said, holding up a gold case of Bero. But the purchase wasn’t exactly smooth.
Laughing, Holland revealed he was nearly turned away because the cashier wouldn’t accept his United Kingdom ID. “They wouldn’t accept my ID because it’s English, and I couldn’t prove my age,” he said in the video. Thankfully, a kind Target employee came to the rescue by using their own ID to complete the sale.
Holland called the entire experience “kind of ironic that I wasn’t allowed to buy my own product.”

Clips from his Instagram stories are going viral across social media, and one thing in particular had everyone curious – “You need an ID for non-alcoholic beer?”
A user commented, “I have so many questions but the main one is why are you being IDed for a drink that’s nonalcoholic??!?!” Another user said, “kind of strange that you need to be ID’d for non-alcoholic drinks.”
“Imagine getting carded for your OWN drink,” wrote a user. Another individual commented, “He does look really young but the cashier maybe could have cut him some slack, he’s spiderman.. how often does spiderman walk into the grocery store to get non alcoholic beer.”
Holland launched Bero in October, 2024.
