Twenty-nine-year-old Omar Mateen opened-fire at Pulse nightclub, killing 50 revellers who had gathered for a celebratory night of dancing to salsa and merengue music at Pulse’s ‘Upscale Latin Saturdays’ party. The victims intended were homosexuals as Pulse is a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. It’s been said to be the worst incident of mass killing in US’ history. (Get the full coverage of the Florida shooting here.)
As the word spread, social media reacted with shock and horror and prayed for the victims, survivors and their families. Some even stood up in support of Muslims, saying one man’s deranged actions shouldn’t be used to judge the masses of a religion.
