
What began as an exhilarating adventure quickly turned into a terrifying experience for a scuba diver when an octopus attempted to strangle him. A video of the attack has now gone viral.
In the video, the diver, on encountering the octopus, pokes it and tries to grab the creature. The octopus quickly retaliates by wrapping its tentacles around the diver’s neck, hands, and jaw, leaving him gasping for air.
The chilling footage ends with the diver managing to break free. The date and place of the incident are unknown.

With over a million views, the video has amused many social media users. Many were impressed by the octopus’s swift response, and others slammed the cameraperson for not helping the diver break free.

A similar incident occurred in 2022 when a Russian diver was attacked by an octopus in the Sea of Japan. According to Fox News, the creature used its sharp beak, concealed by its mouth, to bite the diver. Fortunately, the diver was able to break free from the octopus’s grasp without injury, and the creature swam away.
According to LiveScience, octopuses are the most intelligent invertebrates on the planet. They typically inhabit cold coastal waters and have been observed in regions like California, Oregon, and Washington, as well as Russia, Japan, and the Korean Peninsula.
