A 6-year-old cat was “banished” and kept in solitary confinement after he repeatedly let out other felines from a shelter in Texas.

‘Quilty’ became famous on social media after an animal rescue and adoption organisation, Friends For Life, Houston shared a post about the cat’s mischevious activities. “Quilty will not be contained. And he has no shame,” read the caption of the post shared along with visibly angry Quilty serving his time in a confined room.

It all began when the feline became a resident of the shelter. “We would come in in the morning and have to collect all 15 of the cats who had a blast during the night,” Jennifer Hopkins, communications lead at the shelter told CNN. However, on checking, they found the culprit to be Quilty, who would jump on the door handle and let the others out.

According to the viral post, rooms in the shelter are not being “Quilty proofed”. However, this is not the first time Quilty has been involved in some monkey business. He used to let out his dog sibling in the house at his old home as well. As the story went viral, the shelter invited netizens to come and meet the cat.
