After US President-elect Donald Trump announced Linda McMahon as his pick to lead the Department of Education, a viral video resurfaced online, stirring up plenty of conversation. Linda McMahon, who co-founded WWE in 1980 with her husband Vince McMahon, had a longstanding partnership with Trump and has been a key supporter, even donating heavily to his presidential campaigns.
In the wake of her appointment, old clips from Linda McMahon’s days in the wrestling world began circulating, including a moment where she slaps her daughter, Stephanie McMahon, in a staged WWE segment from the early 2000s.
The video compilation also features the reverse scenario, where Linda McMahon herself is slapped by Stephanie McMahon in another scripted storyline. These moments, part of the over-the-top ‘entertainment’ that WWE is known for, quickly went viral across social media after Trump’s announcement.

The video went viral with over three million views and many users commenting on the post.
One X user wrote, “I don’t want an education secretary. I want government out of education.” Another individual commented, “That’s what she is going to do to the education system!”
A third person quipped, “Cannot imagine anyone better to completely eradicate the Department of Education. You go girl!”
Linda McMahon, a billionaire businesswoman and the former CEO of WWE, is a co-chair of Trump’s transition team as he prepares for his return to the White House.

Linda McMahon, together with her husband Vince McMahon, played a pivotal role in founding WWE (formerly WWF) back in the 1980s. Over the years, she shifted her focus to politics, running as the Republican candidate for the US Senate from Connecticut in 2010 and 2012, though she didn’t win either election.
Her political journey reached a high point when she was appointed as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) during President Donald Trump’s first tenure, serving from 2017 to 2019.
Linda McMahon and Vince McMahon are the parents of two children, Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon.
