Have you lost a wallet? If yes, do you even imagine the ‘good karma’ will work its way and the lost item might just be returned to you? Well, we don’t know about you, but a New Yorker did receive the contents of his wallet back, a week after losing it during a concert in Brooklyn. Interestingly, with a note that said the finder had taken out the cash and metro card because he needed to buy marijuana.
Manhattan-based Reilly Flaherty had gone to Brooklyn to attend Rock band Wilco’s concert and couldn’t find his wallet after coming out. After an unsuccessful search, he returned home. “I was fairly certain my wallet was lost and not coming back, but I held onto a little hope that it was lost at a Wilco show in Brooklyn, and most of the people I know that are into Wilco’s brand of music are generally good people,” Flaherty told Mashable.
However, in an interesting turn of events, Flaherty received an envelope in his mailbox with his driver’s licence, important documents and cards. The man had kept the cash, metro card and his wallet. He wrote:
Dear Reilly Flaherty,
I found your wallet and your drivers license and your address so here’s your credit cards and other important stuff. I kept the cash because I needed weed, the MetroCard because well the fare’s $2.75 now, and the wallet cause it’s kinda cool. enjoy the rest of your day. Toodles, Anonymous
And Flaherty took to Instagram to say ‘thanks… I think?’
Sadly, the belongings were of no use to him because he had already got a new licence and his cards replaced. Oh well, at least the other guy tried.
