‘You’re the Donald Trump of food’: Netizens roast US man for saying ‘Indian cuisine is terrible’

It all started when one Twitter user asked for "controversial food opinion". Among the comments, one Tom Nichols from New Port, Rodhe Island, said, "Indian food is terrible and we pretend it isn’t".

Indian cuisine has ardent followers all across the globe and is not just limited to its citizens. So, naturally, when a man from the US opined that ‘Indian food is terrible’, he was on the receiving end, getting collective hate from everywhere on social media.

It all started when one Twitter user asked for “controversial food opinion”. “Please quote tweet this with your most controversial food opinion, I love controversial food opinions,” he said. Soon, hundreds of comments flooded the tweet, with people sharing their likes and dislikes.

Among the comments, one Tom Nichols from New Port, Rodhe Island, said, “Indian food is terrible and we pretend it isn’t”. His comment soon started a series of debates online.

While most were offended and trolled him, others questioned who did he refer to as “we”. Many on social media pointed out that he shouldn’t have passed an opinion without trying authentic Indian cuisines. Some poked fun at him, saying, “You are the Donald J Trump of food”.

However, despite all the collective hate, Nichols stuck to his guns.
