The incident took place on Saturday evening around 9.00 pm when two carriages on the wheel caught fire.
The viral clip, shared by BBC News, shows a panic-like situation as several people can be seen stuck in the Ferris wheel. The video also captures the chilling moment when the carriages caught fire. “Several people have been injured after a Ferris wheel caught fire at a music festival in eastern Germany. Eighteen people were taken to hospital. According to local police, four people suffered burn injuries, with one person injured by falling. The cause of the fire is still being investigated,” BBC News wrote on Instagram.

Reacting to the viral footage, a user wrote, “Can’t even imagine the horror… all the best to everyone involved.” Another user commented, “For many people it was an unforgettable music festival.”
“Why isn’t the wheel moving to try and get people off? Or people up there rescuing? Are the people in the lit carriage okay?” a third user wrote.
According to reports, as many as 30 people were injured, out of which 18 are currently being treated in a hospital. German rapper Ski Aggu was performing onstage at the festival when the Ferris wheel caught fire. He later took to his Instagram stories to write that he was “dismayed and shocked” over the night’s incident, CNN reported.
